This Enterprise Hosting data center is SAS 70 Type II certified. SAS 70 (the statement on Auditing Standards No. 70) is an internationally recognized auditing standard developed by the American Insitute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) in 1992. It defines the standards an auditory must employ in order to assess the contracted internal controls of a service organization. Service organizations, such as hosted data centers, insurance claims processors and credit processing companies, provide outsourcing services that affect the operation of the contracting enterprise. A SAS 70 Type I is known as a “report on controls placed in operation,” and a SAS 70 Type II is known as a “report on controls placed in operation” as well as “tests of operating effectiveness.”
